The Spring Raffle is one of the ways the club raises money to keep the dues
down and continue to maintain and improve the club.
We know the economy is bad, please help the club by getting tickets at the
meeting and selling them. Sell five, sell just three, but help the club by
selling tickets. The spring raffle offers assorted sporting goods,
unlike the fall raffle which is purely a gun raffle. This raffle has guns, but
it is mostly sporting equipment which can be used by anyone. And if the prize
doesn't suit your needs, the price the club paid for the prize can be applied
to any purchase, so golfers, tennis players, and particularly hikers and
runners who want specialized shoes can make full use of the prize value.
The prizes are awarded one per day, based on the evening number. Unlike raffles
where "your odds will vary depending on tickets sold," there are only
1000 tickets ever sold, and 30 chances to win. Thirty chances at serious prizes,
those are good odds.
If this reaches you too late to get to the meeting, a ticket seller ill be at
the club every night until the first of June, call the club about 7pm and pick
a time. Our club runs by the efforts of the members, your effort is needed now! Trap

lost its first match last Sunday, in a battle of undefeated clubs decided by
the last squad of the day. We went into the last squad down by a single bird,
and two of our shooters improved the club total, but one of the West Albany
shooters shot a higher score and we wound up losing by three. Vince Monini came
to shoot before leaving on his honeymoon (congratulations), and junior Scott
Ditmars shot a personal best (16) in the first round, and duplicated it in the
second.

Go, shoot, freeze your favorite body parts off, get warm and eat.
Coffee all day, hot food at lunch. I haven't made it this year, seven
weeks with pneumonia and assorted ills keeps me out of the cold as much
as possible. Getting stuff in the newsletter
The electronic newsletter is published ten times a year (assuming
content is available), so you can eMail your stuff to newsletter@iroquoisrodandgunclub.com.
Please use plain text or HTML, I don't have every bizarre word
processor known to man, and I may not be able to read it. Words on
paper are fine, I'm at the club for meetings and usually on Monday
night. It doesn't have to be pretty, I'm the editor and I will
make it pretty.
Please join us at our
membership meetings every third Tuesday at 8:00pm March 17th 2009. All
members and those who are just curious about the club are welcome to attend
the membership meetings!
Our mandatory Safety/Orientation Class has been a success in 2008-2009! We will be continuing these classes for all members in the Winter 2008-09 months. Please keep checking the website, or simply call the club to acquire more details. This class is MANDATORY for any member who joined the club after 2000, and a good idea for long time members who may not have used some of the ranges recently.
In the meantime you can reach us at (518) 356-7273. We are looking forward to hearing from you. You can also contact us at our e-mail address: joinirgc@iroquoisrodandgunclub.com.
If you are not familiar with Iroquois Rod and Gun Club and your first contact with us is online: We would be pleased to hear from you! Please let us know what your needs and questions are, we will be more than happy to help.
Newletter: if you have material to send to the newsletter, or would like to be on the mailing list for the online newsletter, which will be published more often than the paper version, please send to the newsletter editor at newsletter@iroquoisrodandgunclub.com.
